Trailer customs declaration is an important logistics link in international trade. Combining trailer transportation with customs declaration services can effectively save time and costs.
Basic Process of Trailer Customs Declaration
Preparatory work for trailer
The first step in trailer customs declaration is to prepare for the trailer in advance, which includes obtaining the booking confirmation (SO) from the shipping agent or freight forwarder, then sending the SO to the trailer company, and informing them of the container loading time, detailed packing location, contact person and phone number, etc.
Container pick-up and loading
After receiving the SO, the trailer company first goes to the designated window to print the document and exchange it for the "Equipment Interchange Receipt". The trailer driver takes the equipment interchange receipt to the designated container yard to pick up the empty container, and then arrives at the factory or logistics warehouse on time to prepare for loading. Before loading, it is necessary to check whether the container is damaged, stained or has an odor. If any problems are found, contact the shipping company in a timely manner.
Returning the loaded container to the terminal
After loading, seal the container with a lead seal. The driver pulls the loaded container (full container) back to the designated port yard. After receiving the container, the yard sends the arrival information to the customs system to prove that the goods are under customs supervision.
Customs declaration procedures
After the customs system successfully receives the arrival information, the formal customs declaration can be carried out. It is necessary to submit documents such as the customs declaration form, packing list, invoice, and contract to the customs broker for electronic authorization and customs declaration.
